Calendar of Events

We always have our regular vendors for your shopping enjoyment, but we often have featured buskers, kids activities, visiting chefs, special events, and community booths as well. This calendar allows you to see what is coming up so you can plan ahead and not miss a moment of fun at the Lakefield Farmers' Market every Thursday from 9am-2pm in the Lakefield Area parking lot.

New and returning vendors are offering their best in agricultural products, artisanal delights and prepared foods. Always popular this time of year are bedding plants, new crop maple syrup, jams and jellies, and fresh rhubarb for that spring tonic we all need.

Hooks and Needles Lakefield is a community knitting group and they are looking for more knitters and community support.

They are working on a request from the Algonquins of Pikwakaragan in Golden Lake, Ontario, for knitted "lap blankets" for their Seniors and clothing, in general, for children ages 2 to 16.   They also have requested dry foods (spaghetti/macaroni), etc.   Free transportation of these items to Golden Lake has been arranged and the shipment goes out early in July. At the market on July 5, they will be accepting items.  Our knitters in Lakefield and our co-members in Lindsay are knitting the lap blankets right now.    We are always looking for more knitters and/or any donations of yarn that we can then give to some of our Seniors who knit for us but don't have the funds to buy the yarn!

Kawartha Land Trust will be at the Market this week talking about their mission to care for lands entrusted to them and to help others protect the land they love.

KLT is a non-government registered charity dedicated to conserving the natural environment and enhancing quality of life in the Kawartha area. KLT protects 14 properties covering 3,355 acres of diverse and significant landscapes with a donated land value of $8.7 Million. The organization is supported by an amazing team of over 110 volunteers.
