Kawartha Eclectics
The Kawartha Eclectics: Janet McDougall, Sandi McNeil and Donna Southern
Janet MCDougall expresses her creative spirit through a variety of media. She creates work in pottery, using a locally made ash glaze, and also works with glass mosaics. She has an innate appreciation for the natural beauty of her environment and her art installations masterfully make use of texture, colour, light and space.
Sandi McNeil is a natural fibre artist who works extensively with hand gathered materials that grow in and around the Kawartha Lakes. Her work reflects the harmony between form and function. Known primarily for her traditional and non-traditional basketry, Sandi also makes willow figures, garden furnishings and wire sculptures.
Donna Southern is an accomplished hand weaver and a lover of fibre arts. She enjoys the interplay between hand woven goods and natural materials. Much of her work is created with locally hand spun yarns. Her hard shell gourds are locally grown and she used them to create unique vessels and jewellery.
